About Our CampS
Our summer camp program includes two camps. The main camp is the Fired Arts Camp from 10 am - 1 pm. Our second camp is the Pottery Wheel Throwing Camp from 1 - 2 pm each day immediately following the Fired Arts Camp.
We specialize in the Fired Arts of clay sculpting, ceramic painting and fused glass. During the early years of camp, we quickly realized that our campers LOVED the pottery wheel portion of the camp so much, we gave it a separate dedicated hour after the fired arts camp.
Our Fired Arts Camp has continued to expand over the years and we can now accommodate a max of 24 students. There is limited seating for the Pottery Wheel Camp with a max of 12 students, so early registration is encouraged. Even with our expansion of both camps, we generally have a waiting list.
This will be our 8th year hosting summer camps at the Art Box since our opening in 2017! We have a team of experienced teachers, room counselors and support staff that will encourage and guide your camper through each art project. We couldn't be more excited to share our passion for art, our expertise in the fired arts and our love of teaching with your camper this summer!

Frequently Asked questions
My child is 12 years old. Which camp or workshop should they attend?
At the Art Box, 12 year olds may choose to attend the kids camp or teen workshop. They may decide to attend the kids camp with younger friends or siblings. They may also choose to join the older group to really work on their skills. In the teen workshops, we focus on developing individual ideas and artistic choices within our projects. We also allow students more time on each project to add detail and really geek out on the techniques. Teen students should have a demonstrated interest in art, the attention span for longer work times, and the ability to work independently.
My child is 6.5 years old. Can they attend camp?
Our camp projects are developed for 7-12 year olds, so we hesitate to include younger campers. On a case by case basis, we have allowed 6.5 year olds at camp who may be attending with older siblings, has a demonstrated interest in camp or that we have worked with at the studio previously. I appreciate a candid conversation with the parents to determine if our camp is well suited for their younger camper.
My child loves art camp! Can they sign up for more than one week?
At the Art Box, we teach the same projects each week of summer camp. We usually have a few campers that join us for multiple weeks and we work with those campers to keep them engaged and learning. We practice the same techniques, but we may have your camper paint a horse with a colorful mane one week and a lion with a colorful mane the next week. This allows them to follow along with the instructions and techniques while adding a new twist to some of the projects.
